CIVILIZATION IS NOT CIVIL
For our 11th Edition, Prizm will present Civilization is Not Civil considering the nature by which “civil”izations are established. They are rarely built by consent, but instead through acts of overt and/or covert violence, and manipulation. Economic systems, policies, and geopolitics play an integral in shaping societies that oppress many but generously serve few. Civilization is not Civil will explore the irony that civilizations are born of not-so-civil acts. Our holistic program includes four sections: Prizm Panels, Prizm Perform, Prizm Film, Prizm Preview, and, of course, Prizm Art Fair at large, exhibiting international artists from Africa and the global African Diaspora.

Artists will represent global locales including, Barbados, Kenya, Martinique, Portugal, Saint Croix, Saint Martin, Uganda, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, the United Kingdom, and many more.
In the Special Projects curated section, artist Coralina Rodriguez Meyer offers Linea Negra series photographs from the Mama Spa Botanica project, including their Coralina Triptych (Mother Mold monument) 2018-22 , Yemaya (Broken Water) 2020 & Olympic: Be Your Own Mom (Doula Nicky Dawkins) 2021 chromogenic prints on hahnmule beryta.
